ARA---------------------------A joint fast was organized today at the call of the student organization All India Students Association (AISA) and Inqalabi Naujawan Sabha to demand the resignation of the Union Education Minister.
The event was conducted by District Secretary Jaishankar Prasad. Demanding the resignation of the BJP government and Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, he stated that numerous paper leaks have occurred across the country during the Minister's tenure, and no examination is being conducted in a fair and impartial manner. A large number of students and youths participated in the fast, raising their voices against the growing disarray in the education system, persistent irregularities in the examination process, paper leaks, the jeopardizing of students' futures, and the commercialization of education. Addressing the event, RYA State Secretary and former Agiaon MLA Shivprakash Ranjan stated that the recent NEET paper leak led to suicides by dozens of students across the country. He asserted that these were not merely suicides but "institutional murders" for which the government bears responsibility. He criticized the BJP government—in power since 2014—for being consistently anti-student, anti-examination, and anti-education, noting that the prevalence of paper leaks and the protection afforded to those responsible for them stem from this government's policies. He demanded the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, declaring that the country's youth and students do not want such an anti-education, anti-national, and anti-student figure in the Education Ministry. He vowed to continue the struggle until the Education Minister steps down, recalling that major movements in the past—fought on the streets—have forced the government to bow, retreat, and concede to demands.
Leaders from AISA and RYA stated that the country's education system is currently facing a grave crisis. Recurring paper leaks, irregularities in recruitment exams, academic chaos in universities, and the government's silence on student concerns prove that the central government has completely failed to address educational issues.
They demanded that Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan take moral responsibility and resign immediately. While securing the future of students and the youth is the government's primary duty, the current administration has consistently shirked this responsibility.
They called for an impartial investigation into the NEET paper leak and exam scams, strict action against the guilty, and reforms to make the education system transparent, accountable, and student-friendly. Finally, Comrade Kyamuddin Ansari, State Secretary of the Insaaf Manch, brought the collective fast to a close by offering juice to all the participants.
Student leaders and youth activists from AISA and RYA participated in this collective fast. Attendees included RYA District Secretary Niranjan Keshari, AISA District Secretary Jaishankar Prasad, District President Vikash Kumar, District Joint Secretaries Chandan Das and Roshan Kushwaha, Sahil Arora, RYA District Joint Secretary Akhilesh Kumar, Harinarayan, women leaders Neetu Kumari, Varsha Kumari, Hanshika, and Anita, as well as Vivek, Gautam, Vidyanivas, Anup, Sumit, Pankaj Kushwaha, Manish Yadav, Randhir Rana, Rahul, and others.
