BHABHUA--------------------In a major crackdown on cattle smugglers, the police seized a truck loaded with 26 cattle near the Southern Transport Checkpost in the Mohania police station area. However, the driver and other smugglers fled the scene upon realizing the police's presence. The police are conducting raids to apprehend them.
According to the police, the Mohania police station received a tip-off on Monday regarding the smuggling of cattle in a truck via the Southern Transport Checkpost. After verifying the information, the police immediately launched a vehicle inspection drive. During this operation, a truck bearing registration number UP-70 PT-1082 was stopped and searched on suspicion.
The inspection revealed 26 cattle being transported while tied up in a cruel manner. Subsequently, the police took both the truck and the cattle into custody. The seized vehicle and recovered cattle have been brought to the police station, and further legal action is being initiated. Officials stated that efforts are underway to identify and arrest the absconding driver and other smugglers through continuous raids. Kaimur Police affirmed that the campaign against cattle smuggling will continue.
