BUXAR---------------------------Under "Operation Yatri Suraksha"—an initiative launched by the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Buxar, to ensure passenger safety and curb railway-related crimes—an intensive search and surveillance drive was conducted at Buxar railway station on Monday. During the operation, a special RPF team arrested two suspicious individuals found in possession of a stolen mobile phone and a blade fragment.

The special team, constituted under the guidance of RPF Buxar Inspector-in-Charge Kundan Singh, conducted the search operation while monitoring for suspicious activities within the station premises. In the process, a joint team comprising Sub-Inspector Vishnu Shankar Ojha, Sub-Inspector Vijendra Muwal, Constable Shyam Narayan Singh Yadav, and Constable Sonalal Yadav apprehended the two suspects.

Upon interrogation, the accused identified themselves as Umesh Rai (30), son of Surendra Rai (resident of Chilhar village, Itarhi Police Station, Buxar district), and Tanu Kumar Singh (34), son of Anil Kumar Singh (resident of Nagar Police Station area, Buxar district).

According to the RPF, both admitted during questioning to stealing mobile phones and other belongings from passengers on trains and to pickpocketing using blades. A stolen mobile phone and a blade fragment were recovered from their possession.

Following due procedure, both arrested individuals were handed over to the Government Railway Police (GRP), Buxar, for further legal action.

RPF officials stated that search and surveillance operations would continue at Buxar railway station and on trains to ensure passenger safety and prevent railway-related crimes.
