ARA---------------------------Police apprehended three miscreants who were fleeing after kidnapping an employee of a highway eatery (dhaba) located near the Dhangai Smriti Dwar on the Ara-Mohania National Highway (within the Dhangai police station area). One miscreant managed to escape. They were arrested from Rajeyan village under the Piro police station area. The Scorpio vehicle used in the kidnapping was seized, and four mobile phones, a *dab* (a type of heavy curved knife/cleaver), and a police baton were recovered from the miscreants.
The arrested individuals include Pramod Kumar (son of the late Nandkishore Singh), Ravindra Kumar (son of Lucky Singh), and Shivam Kumar Singh (son of Kamlesh Singh)—all residents of Karvaniya village under the Agiaon Bazar police station area. The absconding miscreant has been identified as Jitu Kumar, a resident of Kaisar village under the Nawanagar police station area in Buxar district.
According to reports, the kidnapped employee is Dharmendra Bhagat (son of the late Ramswaroop Bhagat), a resident of Morwa Bazar village under the Tajpur police station area in Samastipur district. He had been working at the eatery for several months. Superintendent of Police Raj released a press note confirming these details.
It is reported that on the night of August 15, an argument broke out between the eatery employee, Dharmendra Bhagat, and a truck driver at the establishment located near the Dhangai Smriti Dwar on the Ara-Mohania National Highway. Shivam Kumar Singh, Ravindra Kumar, Pramod Kumar, and Jitu Kumar arrived at the scene in a Scorpio and began speaking in support of the truck driver. A scuffle ensued, following which they forcibly abducted Dharmendra Bhagat, bundled him into their Scorpio, and fled the scene.
Staff members at the eatery informed the local Station House Officer (SHO) about the incident, and an FIR was lodged against four unidentified miscreants. Subsequently, the police arrived at Rajeyan village in Piro to rescue the victim safely; upon seeing the police, Jitu Kumar fled the spot, while the other three were arrested. An FIR has now been registered against all four individuals at the Dhangai police station. Meanwhile, the police are conducting continuous raids to apprehend the absconding Jeetu Kumar.
