ARA------------------------In a notable recovery during a routine vehicle checking operation, Bhojpur police have seized a pickup truck carrying a massive quantity of coins in the Hassan Bazar police station area. The vehicle was found loaded with 29 bags filled exclusively with ₹5 coins, whose total face value has been estimated at ₹13,87,910 (approximately ₹13.88 lakh).

According to police sources, the interception took place while personnel were conducting checks on vehicles in the area. On inspecting the pickup, officers discovered the bags carefully stacked inside. The sheer volume of coins immediately raised suspicion, leading to a thorough count and valuation.

Two persons, including the driver of the vehicle, have been arrested in connection with the case. During initial interrogation, the accused disclosed that the coins had been brought from Lucknow. However, they have not yet provided a clear explanation regarding the purpose of transporting such a large quantity of small-denomination coins or the intended destination.

Police officials are now focusing on several key questions: Why were so many ₹5 coins being moved in bulk? Was the transportation linked to any illegal activity such as black-market currency dealings, melting for metal value, or use in unauthorised financial transactions? Investigators are also trying to identify the source of the coins in Lucknow and any possible network involved in the operation.

The case has been registered, and further investigation is underway. Authorities are examining mobile phone records, vehicle movement history, and other leads to establish the full sequence of events. Senior police officers have directed teams to dig deeper into the matter to rule out any larger racket.

Incidents involving the bulk movement of coins occasionally surface in different parts of the country, sometimes linked to scrap metal trade or attempts to circumvent banking channels. In this instance, the Bhojpur police recovery has drawn local attention, with people curious about the motive behind carting nearly fourteen lakh rupees in five-rupee coins across state borders.

Officials have stated that more details will emerge as the probe progresses. The arrested persons are currently in police custody, and further questioning is expected to throw light on the larger picture behind this unusual seizure.
