ARA--------------------------Bhojpur Police have set an example of effective law enforcement through swift action. The police successfully solved the sensational shooting incident that took place in Chaukipur village—under the jurisdiction of Gajrajganj Outpost (OP)—within just six hours. They achieved a major breakthrough by arresting the two primary accused involved in this high-profile case. Sushil Kumar, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Sadar-1, provided details regarding the matter.
This serious incident occurred on October 6, 2026, in Chaukipur village. Unidentified armed miscreants on a motorcycle targeted and shot Raju Kumar (40), a property dealer and resident of Chaukipur village, while he was standing outside his home. This audacious crime caused a sensation in the area and raised questions regarding law and order. However, the Bhojpur Police acted promptly to bring the situation under control and formed a special team to apprehend the perpetrators.
An intensive investigation revealed that the shooting stemmed from a mutual dispute and a long-standing financial matter. The investigation also uncovered a startling fact: the injured man and the shooter are close relatives. The parties involved share familial ties, specifically those of brother-in-law (sister's husband and wife's brother) and co-brother-in-law (*saadhu*—wives being sisters). Preliminary findings indicate that the violent attack was driven by family and financial animosity.
Given the gravity of the incident, the police administration took immediate action. Utilizing technical surveillance and local intelligence networks, the police identified and apprehended the culprits. Two main accused have been arrested in the case: Brajesh Yadav (son of Mohan Yadav, resident of Mahuar village, Nainijor Police Station, Buxar district) and Manjay Yadav (son of Rambalak Yadav, resident of Chamarpur village, Shahpur Police Station, Bhojpur district). A case (Case No. 511/26) has been registered at the Udvantnagar (Gajrajganj) police station regarding this serious matter. The FIR was lodged on October 6, 2026, under various serious sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)—specifically 126(2), 109(1), 352, 351(2), and 61(2)—as well as Section 27 of the Arms Act. The police have taken the two arrested accused into custody and initiated further legal proceedings.
