BUXAR---------------------------On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, a unique event was organized on Friday by 'Aasa Paryavaran Suraksha Bihar' at the Late Kanchan Devi Smriti Kunj (Vishwanath Nagar complex) on Itarhi Road, Buxar. During the event, people pledged to protect trees and the environment by tying *Rakhi* (a sacred thread symbolizing protection) to them.

The event was led by Vipin Kumar, the convener of Aasa Paryavaran Suraksha Bihar. He stated that trees and plants are the foundation of our lives. To curb long-term changes in temperature and weather patterns, every individual must plant as many trees as possible. Only through collective efforts can the impact of climate change be controlled.

He emphasized that merely planting saplings is not enough; it is the duty of all of us to protect and care for the trees that have been planted.

Meanwhile, Jitendra Kumar Singh, President of the Late Mahant Singh Smriti Kisan Hit Samuh (Farmers' Welfare Group), remarked that taking a pledge for environmental protection by tying *Rakhi* to trees on Raksha Bandhan is an exemplary initiative. He added that one should pledge to plant and protect trees on the occasion of all social and religious ceremonies. Only then can the balance between life and nature on Earth be preserved.

Several people attended the event, including Vijay Prakash Singh, Rohit Kumar, Chandan Kumar Singh, Shamshad Khan, Rajshekhar, teacher Savita Kumari, Mamteshwari Singh, Neelam Kumari, Poonam Singh, Sumangal Devi, Anand Prakash, Shagun Priya, Pankhuri, and Shivanshika Singh. Everyone pledged to conserve the environment and preserve greenery by tying the sacred protective thread to the trees.
