BUXAR------------------------------There is immense enthusiasm among devotees of Lord Shiva regarding the final Monday of the holy month of Sawan. Large numbers of Kanwariyas are setting out on a 35-kilometer foot journey to the Baba Brahmeshwarnath Dham in Brahmpur, carrying holy water from the Ganges collected at Buxar's famous Ramrekha Ghat. The departure of the Kanwariyas began on Sunday afternoon.
To ensure the safety of the Kanwariyas, the administration had devised a special traffic plan for NH-922. Under this plan, arrangements were made to keep one lane of the four-lane highway reserved exclusively for the pilgrims—halting all vehicular movement on it—while diverting traffic to the other lane. However, until around 6 PM, trucks and other vehicles continued to ply on the lane designated for Kanwariyas, posing a safety risk.
Upon receiving information about the situation, senior district administration officials took immediate cognizance. To rectify the arrangements, Sadar SDM Avinash Kumar and Sadar SDPO Gaurav Pandey personally took to the road, accompanied by a large contingent of police officers and personnel. Patrolling the four-lane highway, both officials assessed the traffic situation and ensured that vehicular movement in the lane reserved for Kanwariyas was completely halted.
Following the officials' proactive intervention, traffic flow was streamlined, and one lane of the highway was fully cleared for the Kanwariyas. Subsequently, the pilgrims were able to proceed safely towards Brahmpur Dham without fear or hindrance.
This swift action by the administration brought relief to both the Kanwariyas and general commuters. The Kanwariyas expressed their gratitude to the administration for the security arrangements. In view of the final Monday of Sawan, the administration has stepped up police deployment and intensified surveillance on the four-lane highway to ensure a safe journey for the pilgrims.
