ARA-----------------------------A speeding Brezza car met with an accident on the Patna-Buxar four-lane highway (NH-922) within the jurisdiction of the Koilwar police station on Saturday. Following the accident, the police recovered 251.64 liters of foreign liquor from the vehicle. Two liquor smugglers who were in the car sustained serious injuries.
According to the information received, the Koilwar police were informed on Saturday morning that a speeding Brezza car, traveling from Ara towards Patna, had rammed into the rear of a stationary truck loaded with sand on NH-922, near the Mano Baijnath High School in Kulhariya. Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene and immediately sent the two injured individuals to the Koilwar Primary Health Centre for treatment.
After receiving initial treatment, both were shifted to the Sadar Hospital; however, given their critical condition, doctors referred them to Patna.
A search of the wrecked vehicle by the police led to the recovery of 251.64 liters of foreign liquor. The arrested individuals have been identified as Kanhaiya Kumar (alias Chhotu), son of Nandu Yadav, and Nitish Kumar, son of Shravan Yadav—both residents of Gulabbagh village, under the Barh police station area of Patna district.
The Koilwar police have registered an FIR against both accused under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Bihar Prohibition and Excise (Amendment) Act, 2018, and have initiated further legal proceedings.
