ARA--------------------------Acting on the orders of Bhojpur District Magistrate Tanay Sultania, the Prohibition Department is conducting continuous raids and vehicle checks across the district to combat the liquor trade. In this context, Assistant Commissioner (Prohibition) Rajnish received a tip-off that a large consignment of foreign liquor was being transported from Uttar Pradesh into Bihar by truck.

The Assistant Commissioner (Prohibition) constituted a team led by Inspector Anil Kumar. On August 18, during a raid on the Mohania-Ara main highway—specifically before the Mahurahi overbridge in the Dhangai police station area—the team seized a large quantity of foreign liquor concealed beneath a load of gravel in a 14-wheeler truck.

The vehicle bore a Bihar registration number. During the operation, the driver—Manish Kumar, son of Nageshwar Ram and a resident of Tilokhar (Ward No. 12) under the Chutia police station area of ​​Rohtas district—was arrested. was handed over to the court for further proceedings. A total of 432.000 liters of foreign liquor, comprising 2,400 units, was seized from the vehicle.

The market value of the seized liquor was estimated at around ₹6 lakh. The liquor was being transported from Uttar Pradesh to Bihar. The raiding team included Inspector Anil Kumar, Assistant Sub-Inspectors Madan Lal Yadav and Rana Vikas Kumar, along with personnel from the Prohibition wing, SAP, and Home Guards.
