ARA----------------------------A major disaster was narrowly averted on Tuesday afternoon at Navodaya Chowk in Bihiya town. A fire suddenly broke out at the State Bank of India (SBI) ATM located there, causing panic among locals.

According to reports, the fire is believed to have been caused by a short circuit in the ATM's distribution box. Bystanders became alert when they suddenly saw smoke billowing from inside the ATM. Acting swiftly, they raised an alarm and immediately informed the local fire department.

Recognizing the gravity of the situation, a fire brigade team from the Bihiya police station rushed to the scene. Firefighters demonstrated great efficiency and managed to bring the fire under control in time. Thanks to this prompt response, the fire did not spread to nearby shops or other premises, thereby averting a major disaster.

There was no loss of life or property in the incident. Preliminary investigations indicate minor damage to the ATM's internal wiring, but the cash inside remains completely safe. A large crowd of locals had gathered at the scene upon learning of the incident.
