EMPOWERED STANDING COMMITTEE MEETING OF AMC CONCLUDED

ARA-------------------------An important meeting of the Empowered Standing Committee was held on Monday at the Municipal Corporation office. Mayor Indu Devi presided over the meeting. Before the proceedings began, Mayor Indu Devi congratulated and extended her best wishes to all the newly elected members of the committee. Subsequently, the minutes of the previous meeting were ratified. The meeting featured detailed discussions on the city's sanitation and cleanliness systems, public amenities, and various ongoing and proposed development schemes within the municipal area.

Mayor Indu Devi suggested beautifying all the city's ponds and wells and proposed the purchase of water tankers by the Municipal Corporation to ensure better service for residents during times of need. Additionally, a decision was taken to expedite the installation of LED screens across the city—a proposal that had previously been approved by the Empowered Standing Committee. A generator will be arranged to ensure an uninterrupted power supply at the Gangi cremation ground, maintaining operations even during power outages. In addition to the previously tendered 5,000 lights, another 2,000 new lights will be installed across the city. It was decided to install new 'Tiranga' (tricolor) lights on the Eastern Overbridge and repair the existing LED lights on the poles, aiming to make the city's main entry route more attractive and beautiful.

The defunct toilet at Ramna Maidan will be made operational and beautified. All non-functional CCTV cameras in the city will be repaired to strengthen the surveillance system. Previously pending projects will be reviewed, and work will be re-tendered in accordance with regulations. Furthermore, proposals for city development submitted by the Mayor and members of the Empowered Standing Committee were unanimously approved.

During the meeting, Municipal Commissioner Anju Kumari announced that 3D paintings would be created on walls across Ara—modeled after Patna—to enhance the city's beauty and appeal. She also mentioned that an inquiry would be conducted regarding individuals residing illegally in Ambedkar Colony. Rajiv Kumar (alias Guddu), a member of the Empowered Standing Committee and Councilor for Ward No. 40, proposed the renovation and construction of a community toilet in Jawahar Tola.

The meeting covered several key issues aimed at improving city development, sanitation systems, and civic amenities. Attendees included Municipal Commissioner Anju Kumari, Additional Municipal Commissioner Jamal Akhtar Ansari, Sanitation In-charges Divya Vikas and Vikas Kumar, Executive Engineer Ashok Kumar Singh, Assistant Engineers Chitranjan Pandey and Sunil Ravidas, along with members of the Empowered Standing Committee. The members of the Empowered Standing Committee present at the meeting included Ward No. 5 Councilor Ranjit Singh, Ward No. 7 Councilor Jeetu Chaurasia, Ward No. 17 Councilor Bhanu Dubey, Ward No. 20 Councilor Rakhi Kumari, Ward No. 21 Councilor Dr. Jitendra Kumar, Ward No. 25 Councilor Zakir Hussain, and Ward No. 40 Councilor Rajiv Kumar (alias Guddu). All members of the empowered committee reached a consensus on the matters discussed. Mayor Indu Devi delivered the vote of thanks.
