ARA----------------------------A meeting of the Panchayat Samiti was held on Monday in the auditorium of the library building located within the Bihiya Block-cum-Circle complex. The meeting was presided over by Block Pramukh Pratima Devi and conducted by BDO Archana Verma. Discussions covered various departmental activities, including the selection of the annual action plan, schemes under the 16th Finance Commission and the 6th State Finance Commission, and a review of the ration card system and the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

The meeting began with the BDO introducing herself to all members and officials. Subsequently, a departmental review commenced. Panchayat Samiti members highlighted issues specific to their respective areas and proposed various schemes for local development. They emphasized prioritizing local needs when selecting schemes.

During the meeting, some members expressed dissatisfaction with the work style of the Junior Engineer (JE) from the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED). BDO Archana Verma reprimanded the JE for arriving late and instructed him to ensure timely attendance at future meetings. Members demanded the prompt resolution of issues related to various departments.

Attendees included Deputy Pramukh Mukesh Yadav, former Deputy Pramukh Shashi Bhushan Singh, Mukhiya Virendra Yadav, members Lal Bahadur Mahto, Manish Ojha, Shiv Kumar Yadav, Dinesh Kumar Singh, Sakila Khatoon, and Kiran Devi, along with Block Panchayati Raj Officer Rishika Ratan Priya, In-charge Block Supply Officer Amrita Kumari, other Panchayat Samiti members, and officials from various departments. Ara. A monthly crime review meeting was held on Monday at the Superintendent of Police's office conference hall. All Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs), Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), Station House Officers (SHOs), and other relevant police officials from the district attended the meeting. During the session, a detailed review was conducted regarding crime control, maintenance of law and order, the disposal of pending cases, and ensuring a peaceful and fear-free environment for the general public.

While reviewing crime statistics station-wise, the Superintendent of Police issued necessary directives for the speedy investigation and resolution of serious and significant cases. Special emphasis was placed on the prompt execution of pending warrants, attachment and confiscation proceedings, and other outstanding matters. Instructions were also given to make police patrolling, surveillance, and vehicle checks more effective in identified hotspots and sensitive areas, and to remain constantly active and vigilant to prevent crime.

Furthermore, with the aim of strengthening police-public coordination, all police stations were directed to promote community policing, establish better communication with citizens, and ensure the quick resolution of their grievances. Directives were issued to ensure the alert deployment of adequate police officers and personnel at major intersections, markets, and sensitive locations, and to keep a close watch on the activities of suspicious individuals and anti-social elements.

Necessary instructions were issued to launch an intensive "Roko-Toko" (Stop and Check) campaign across the district and to conduct continuous checks on suspicious vehicles and individuals to effectively curb crime and anti-social activities.
