DRIVER ARRESTED WITH IMFL

ARA-------------------------Acting on the instructions of the District Magistrate, the Prohibition Department is conducting continuous raids and vehicle inspections across the district to curb the illegal liquor trade. As part of this ongoing operation, the department's team discovered a large quantity of foreign liquor stashed in a secret compartment built into the trailer of a Mahindra tractor within the Mufassil police station area. The driver of the vehicle has been arrested.

Assistant Commissioner (Prohibition) Rajnish had received information that a large consignment of foreign liquor was being transported into Bihar. Acting on this tip-off, a team was formed under the leadership of Inspector Prakash Chandra. On October 22, the team began vehicle inspections near the Ratanpur passenger shed on the Buxar-Patna four-lane highway.

During the inspection, a Mahindra tractor was searched. A total of 201 liters of foreign liquor—comprising 390 individual units—was recovered from a hidden compartment built into the tractor's trailer. The market value of the seized liquor has been estimated at approximately three lakh rupees.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Rahul Kumar Chaudhary, son of Biteshwar Chaudhary, a resident of Manish village under the jurisdiction of the Pawna police station. The Prohibition Department team arrested him and produced him before the court for further legal proceedings.

The raiding team included Inspector Prakash Chandra, Sub-Inspector Shivam Kumar Jha, and Assistant Sub-Inspector Rajkumar Raja, along with constables from the Prohibition Department, as well as personnel from the SAP (Special Auxiliary Police) and the Home Guards.
