ARA-----------------------------The birth anniversary of former President Sarvepalli Dr. Radhakrishnan was celebrated as 'Teachers' Day' on Saturday at the Jubilee Hall of Sambhavna Residential High School, located in Shubh Narayan Nagar, Majhauwan. The event was jointly inaugurated by the school's Principal, Dr. Archana Singh, and Director, Dr. Kumar Dwijendra. Subsequently, floral tributes were paid to the portrait of Dr. Radhakrishnan.
Welcoming all the teachers on this occasion, Principal Dr. Archana Singh remarked that everyone engages in the act of imparting education, whether directly or indirectly. An unrefined child comes to us straight from a mother's lap; the teacher, like a potter, molds the child into the shape of a pot.
It brings great joy when those very children return to the school for certificate verification after securing good jobs. She stated that only a teacher can mold children into good, truthful, and honest individuals capable of playing a role in nation-building.
Presiding over the event, Director Dr. Kumar Dwijendra stated that education is the mother of values (*sanskar*). We educate children so that they grow up to be individuals of good character and values. Referring to a recent incident in a district of the state, he remarked that it had tarnished the dignity not only of the teaching community but of the entire education system of Bihar. Such incidents should not occur.
Teachers should treat their students like their own sons and daughters. They should interact with their students just as they would with children in their own homes. In today's environment, children emulate their teachers' mannerisms, attire, behavior, conduct, and discipline. Teachers must cultivate good values in themselves; only then can the children become individuals of good character.
Dipesh Kumar, Principal of Sambhavna Public School, extended Teachers' Day greetings to all the teachers. Examination In-charge Rajesh Raman remarked that Sambhavna School transforms children from tender saplings into full-grown trees. A recent example of this is Srishti Kumari, a Class XII student who emerged as the school topper during the CBSE examinations.
Discipline In-charge Brijesh Tiwari urged teachers to focus on the students and their families, noting that there is no lack of knowledge among the teachers and encouraging them to instill good values in the children. During the ceremony, Mahesh Sharma, the music teacher at Sambhavna Public School, performed a *bhajan* (devotional song). Similarly, Amitesh Ranjan (music teacher at Sambhavna Residential High School) performed a devotional *bhajan*, and Dharmendra Kumar Singh captivated the audience with a *ghazal* performance.
Dance teacher Chintu Kumar mesmerized the audience with his performance. Female students of the school presented a welcome song titled "Gyaan ke Daata Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan ka Vandan Hai" (Salutations to the Giver of Knowledge, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan) and a Teachers' Day song, "Saare Teerath Dhaam Aapke Charanon Mein..." (All Holy Pilgrimages Lie at Your Feet...).
Finally, the school's teachers jointly honored Principal Dr. Archana Singh and Director Dr. Kumar Dwijendra by presenting them with mementos and gifts. Subsequently, the Principal and Director presented gifts to all the teachers on the occasion of Teachers' Day. The event was conducted by senior teacher Arvind Ojha, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Vice-Principal Rishikesh Ojha.
