BUXAR--------------------------The Buxar police administration has taken major action against Murar Station House Officer (SHO) Neha Kumari. Following an investigation that confirmed 11 charges—including corruption, dereliction of duty, and arbitrary conduct—she has been suspended with immediate effect. During the period of her suspension, her designated headquarters will be the Police Center in Buxar.

An investigation report by the Police Inspector of the Dumraon zone revealed several lapses, including delays in registering First Information Reports (FIRs), the unauthorized release of accused individuals, the filing of FIRs against "unknown persons" in cases involving the Arms Act and liquor prohibition laws, and negligence in the disposal of pending cases. According to the investigation, in a case of assault in Chaungai, an FIR was not registered on August 21, 2026, despite the receipt of a complaint on that very day. It is also alleged that two suspects, who had been handed over by the ERV (Emergency Response Vehicle) police personnel, were released that same night. An FIR was registered against both individuals the following day, leading to their subsequent arrest.

Questions have also been raised regarding the handling of a case in Masarhiya village involving threats made with a weapon. The report notes that barracks designated for female constables were not vacated, forcing them to reside in a garage. Furthermore, there are allegations of negligence regarding the execution of pending warrants and proclamations, arrests during the election period, and the curbing of the illegal liquor trade.

The investigation report also highlights instances where no responses were provided to requests for clarification sought by senior officers. The suspension action has been taken following a review of these complaints and investigation reports. However, a final decision on the allegations will be reached only after the completion of the departmental proceedings.
