ARA-----------------------------A heart-wrenching incident has come to light in Akodha village, located within the jurisdiction of the Chauri police station in the district, where a young farmer was brutally shot dead near a borewell in the fields. The deceased was shot at very close range, with the bullet striking him directly in the center of his forehead, resulting in his death on the spot. Following this sensational crime, an atmosphere of fear has gripped the entire village and the surrounding areas.

According to reports, the deceased has been identified as Abhimanyu Kumar, the 25-year-old son of Virendra alias Ramayan Mahto, a resident of Akodha village. Abhimanyu was a farmer by profession and assisted his family with agricultural work. On Friday morning, when his body was discovered near a borewell situated in the fields, locals immediately alerted the police.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Rakesh Kumar Singh, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Chauri police station, rushed to the scene immediately along with his team. Given the gravity of the matter, the police initiated swift action, and a team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) was summoned to the site to collect evidence. Forensic experts subsequently gathered crucial evidence from the crime scene.

The deceased's father, Virendra alias Ramayan Mahto, stated that his son had left on his motorcycle around 10:00 AM on Thursday to visit his maternal grandparents' home in Kaup village, located within the Charpokhari police station area. On Friday morning, when he himself went to the borewell site in the fields, he discovered his son's lifeless body lying there. Currently, the police are conducting a thorough investigation into every aspect of this heinous murder.
