BHABHUA---------------------------The sudden shift in weather patterns across the district has dealt a crushing blow to the region's farmers. Fierce storms, heavy rains, and hailstorms over the past few days have completely destroyed the standing maize crops ready for harvest in the fields. After months of arduous labor and significant financial investment, just as the harvest season arrived, nature's wrath has cast a pall of despair over the farmers.

The most severe damage is being witnessed in Tariyani Ward No. 02 of the Shivhar block, as well as in Dumma Hirauta and the surrounding areas. Here, the maize crops have been flattened to the ground by strong winds. The hailstorms have inflicted substantial damage upon the plants, significantly increasing the risk of spoilage to the grain itself.

Expressing his anguish, Sunil Sahni (son of Sakhi Chandra Sahni), an affected farmer from Dumma Hirauta, lamented that the crop was on the verge of being harvested when this calamity snatched everything away. He stated:

"We cultivated this maize with immense hope and hard work. The crop was ready, but the sudden storms and hailstorms have completely undone all our efforts. Now, it seems difficult even to recover our initial investment."
