BHABHUA-----------------------The body of a 48-year-old man was recovered from a river in Nuav village, located within the police station's jurisdiction. According to reports, the police were alerted after villagers spotted a body floating in the river. Upon reaching the scene, the police took custody of the body and sent it to Bhabhua for a post-mortem examination. The deceased was found fully clothed, wearing both garments and shoes. Villagers were heard whispering amongst themselves, speculating that it appears someone may have murdered the man—either by killing him and then dumping his body into the river, or by drowning him directly in the water. The deceased has been identified as Manoj Singh, aged approximately 48, son of the late Kamala Singh; he was a resident of Nuav village, under the Durgavati police station in the Kaimur district. Manoj Singh was a father of three children and had arranged his daughter's marriage just last year. Although the police have not yet issued an official statement regarding the matter, a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered at the police station based on the statements provided by the family members, and an investigation is currently underway. A definitive conclusion—as to whether the death was caused by drowning or if the body was dumped after a murder—can only be reached following the completion of the police investigation. Notably, a bridge already exists over the Kakraith-Karmnasa River near the village, facilitating passage from the village into the neighboring state of Uttar Pradesh; the body was recovered at a location situated merely half a kilometer away from this bridge.
