ARA----------------------------Under the jurisdiction of the Agiaon Bazar Police Station, unidentified thieves broke the locks of the office room and kitchen at Angra Primary School last night, stealing items including fans, musical instruments, and rice meant for the Mid-Day Meal scheme, along with several other valuables. In connection with this incident of theft, the school's Headmistress, Tabassum, has submitted an application to the Agiaon Bazar Police Station to register a First Information Report (FIR). According to the Headmistress, all the teachers had left for their homes after closing the school on Saturday. During this interval, the thieves broke into the school's office and kitchen, making off with musical instruments, three fans, 1.5 quintals of rice intended for the Mid-Day Meal, teaching-learning materials, and other items stored there. The theft came to light on Monday after the teachers arrived at the school. The Headmistress immediately informed the members of the School Education Committee, parents, and the Block Education Officer about the incident. Additionally, she submitted an application to the Agiaon Bazar police, requesting the registration of an FIR regarding the theft. Following this incident, both the Mid-Day Meal service and regular academic activities at the school have been disrupted.
A report emerging from Ranchi, Jharkhand, highlights the case of an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) who visits his office only once a month—solely to mark his attendance. Otherwise, he spends his time in Varanasi, Deoghar, or Jamshedpur, engaging exclusively in religious rituals and worship. Although he is officially listed as working with the 'Dial 112' emergency service, whenever he has been spotted, he is invariably found performing religious ceremonies—either accompanying a patron in Varanasi, traveling to Deoghar, or staying in Jamshedpur. He also conducts religious rituals at the residence of the Inspector General (IG) in Ranchi. The reason no superior officer takes action against him is that the ASI—identified as Neeraj Kumar—enjoys deep connections with high-ranking officials. Consequently, he frequently remains absent from duty. If his mobile phone location data were to be tracked, it would immediately become evident just how few days he actually reports for work; however, the question remains: who would dare to take such action against him? Sources suggest that he is also involved in the buying and selling of land. Furthermore, videos and photographs gathered by our sources depict him in Varanasi, sitting alongside his patrons and performing religious rituals. This raises two pertinent questions: firstly, who grants him leave for such extended periods? And secondly, does his habitual absence from duty occur with the tacit collusion of the administration? One thing is certain: the administration is, in some capacity, complicit in this matter.
