ARA---------------------------A shocking double murder rocked Ratnadih village under Garhani police station in Bhojpur district on Tuesday late evening, as armed miscreants shot dead two men, sending shockwaves through the area

The victims, identified as 36-year-old Chandan Kumar Singh, son of Surendra Singh, and 22-year-old Md. Sonu, son of Kallu Miyan of Ratnadih village, were killed at an egg shop in the village. A petty dispute escalated into verbal abuse, culminating in the fatal shooting. Chandan died en-route to Ara Sadar Hospital while Md. Sonu succumbed to injuries on the way to Garhani PHC.

The incident, which occurred late Tuesday evening, sparked panic in the village and surrounding areas. Family members accused local residents, including Kallu Miyan, his sons Aftab and Isteyak, and Prashant Mahto, of the murders. The motive remains unclear, though police are probing all angles.

SHO Garhani police station Ranbir Kumar and his team rushed to the scene and launched an investigation. Chandan, who worked in a private company in Bengaluru, was the fourth of five brothers and two sisters, leaving behind a son, Ankit, and daughter, Anshika. His wife, Rita Devi, passed away six months ago during childbirth. Md. Sonu was a local resident. The tragedy has left both families in mourning, with relatives inconsolable. Police are conducting raids to nab the culprits, as the village reels from the brutal killings.
