An atmosphere of mourning prevails across the entire region following a tragic incident in Garhatha Kala village, located within the Brahmpur police station area. The family and villagers are in deep shock over the news that Shatrughan Bind—a 22-year-old youth from the village—has gone missing in the Ganges River. The incident occurred late Wednesday evening near the Janeshwar Mishra Setu (Beyasi Bridge). Since receiving the information, family members have been continuously searching for the youth, clinging to the hope that he will return safe and sound. According to information provided by family members and villagers, Shatrughan had gone towards Beyasi to drop off his sister.
Another young man from the village was accompanying him. Suddenly, Shatrughan walked towards the Ganges River; the companion immediately alerted the family and local residents to the situation. Upon receiving news of the incident, a large number of villagers rushed to the scene. A search operation was initiated at the local level, and the police were also informed. Villagers described Shatrughan as a hardworking young man with a quiet disposition who took his family responsibilities very seriously. He had married Munni Devi, a resident of Dudhghat village, approximately one year ago. Notably, the couple had celebrated their first wedding anniversary on May 12th—just days before this tragedy struck. The atmosphere of joy within the family had barely subsided when this incident occurred. The young man's wife is reported to be pregnant, a fact that has further compounded the family's distress. A pall of silence has settled over the village following the incident. Villagers are demanding that the administration provide every possible assistance to the bereaved family.
