TRUCK DRIVERS WILL PROTEST IF THE GUILTIES WERE NOT ARRESTED

ARA------------------------Four brothers—all truck drivers from Chhapra—were brutally beaten near Ravidas Tola in Dhandiha village, within the jurisdiction of the Koilwar police station in Bhojpur. One of them suffered a head injury, while another had a finger broken; the other two brothers also sustained serious injuries. The injured individuals are Rajkumar Ram, Chhotelal Ram, Jai Kumar Ram, and Panchdev Ram, all residents of Sardarganj village under the Mashrakh police station area in Chhapra. The truck owner was also present with the drivers.

The incident reportedly took place on Sunday morning. A video of the assault is going viral on social media, showing individuals beating two or three people with sticks and clubs.

Based on Rajkumar Ram's statement, an FIR has been registered at the SC/ST police station against five individuals—including Ashok Singh and Guddu Singh of Dhandiha village—under the SC/ST Act. Two unidentified persons have also been named as accused. The complaint alleges that the accused demanded an extortion sum of ₹20,000 and, upon refusal, assaulted the victims and snatched ₹60,000 from them.

Following the registration of the FIR, the police are investigating the matter and making efforts to identify and apprehend the accused. In the FIR, Rajkumar Ram stated that he and his three brothers were heading to the Sandesh area with three trucks to collect sand when they were stopped by the accused near Ravidas Tola in Dhandiha village. The accused demanded ₹20,000 as extortion money.

When they refused to pay, the accused hurled caste-based slurs and abuses at them before assaulting them with sticks and clubs. During the attack, his brother Chhotelal Ram suffered a head injury; his palm was split open, and a finger was broken.

Superintendent of Police Raj stated that a named FIR has been registered in this matter based on the complaint filed by the truck driver. A video has also been obtained, and the accused are being identified through it. The police are conducting raids to arrest the accused. All the accused will be arrested soon.
