TRAUMA CENTRE IS NEED OF THE HOUR AT ARA

ARA (RNI) Ara Sadar Hospital, called the heart of Bhojpur district, is under serious medical crisis. People from allk over the district come with their last hope of treatment but despite all efforts of the government to make it modern hospital and equipping it with all kind of latest technology, it turned out to be merely a referral hospital. Besides, it is a matter of concern not only for Bhojpur district but for the entire State when the numer of deaths increases.

When this correspondent visited the Ara Sadar Hospital, it came to light that a number of amulene with serious patients come to the hospital from different part of Bhojpur district. Many of them died during treatment or doctors referred them to the Patna Medical College and Hospital. However several patients preferred to get treatment in the privage nursing home at Ara and are cured.

Ara Sadar Hospital is the only major medical centre for patients coming from nearby districts like Buxar, Rohtas besides Bhojpur but there is no trauma centre available for serious road accidents, firing or other emergencies. There are neither specialist doctors nor allegedly modern life saving equipment.

Trauma centre is a system that an save the lives of seriously injured patients by giving them treatment in the ‘golden hour’ but today the situation is that patients are referred to the Patna or Varanasi and due to this delay many lives are lost on the way. People demanded from the Bihar government and the Central Health Ministry to equip the Ara Sadar Hospital with the facility of a trauma centre without delay and also strengthen it with adequate medical staffs, modern equipment and ambulance network in the larger interest of million of people and if no heed is paid, the situation may take an ugly turn sooner or later.
