BHOJPUR POLICE ARRESTED A MISCREANT FOR MURDER

ARA (RNI) Bhojpur police arrested a miscreant from near Bihia railway station when he was trying to escape to Patna in a train. The miscreant was identified as Vishal Rai who was arrested in connection with murder of a sexagenarian farmer at Tikapur village under Bahoranpur police station. He was the main accused in the murder. Police are conducting raids to arrest the rest named accused in this regard.

SDPO Jagdishpur Rajeev Chandra Singh said that some armed miscreant shot dead a farmer at Tikapur village under Bahoranpur police station in Bhojpur district. The miscreant also threatened his son with dire consequences and also released a video of the incident. The deceased was identified as Shiv Pujan Rai 65 son of Bhola Rai of Tikapur village. An FIR has been lodged with the police under Bahoranpur police station against seven persons including Vishal Rai, Kamlesh Rai, Siya Ram Rai, Dhananjay Rai and two liners Surendra Rai and Chhotak Rai of Tikapur village in this regard on the statement of elder brother of the deceased, Siyadhar Rai.

The SDPO said that after institution of FIR, he formed a police team under him and on the basis of CCTV footage, some evidences and inputs from the villagers, arrested Vishal Rai one of the main accused in the murder from near Bihia railway station when he was trying to escape to Patna. He further said that during interrogation, Vishal Rai revealed that he killed Shiv Pujan Rai in protest against murder of his elder uncle. He also reealed that two years ago the son of Shiv Pujan Rai had killed his elder uncle in connection with personal dispute and since he was looking to take revenge. The police are conducting raids to arrest the rest named miscreants.

Neeraj Kumar Thakur, grandson of the deceased said that three years ago, Prince, son of Sriram Rai of the village was going somewhere on his motorcycle. Meanwhile his maternal uncle Abhishek Rai got stuck in the mud and so he asked Prince to drive slowly that caused a quarrel in between the two. Prince along with his family members came and thrashed Abhishek Rai. It ensued a enmity in between two families. An FIR was lodged in this regard and his maternal uncle Abhishek Rai, grandfather Shiv Pujan Rai were landed in the jail for three months. On March 19, 2022, Sri Ram Rai was shot dead and four persons including Shiv Pujan Rai, his son Abhshek Rai were made accused. He was constantly being threatened regarding this matter. Today, his maternal grandfather Shiv Pujan Rai had gone to the dam to leave the cattle where Prince and his cousin Vishal, waylaid and shot his dead.

After murder Vishal released a video saying accepted that he killed Shiv Pujan Rai in one bullet and he would kill his son Abhishek Rai too. He asked the deceased’s son Mukesh to come out of the house. Threatening him, he said that his ticket is also booked. The sooner he come, the sooner he will go. He was asking as to who killed his father. Your guest Vishal Rai has killed him. Go and tell whosever he wants and whenever he wants to meet, meet him.

The neighbours informed the family members about the murder. The family members came out of the house and saw that Shiv Pujan Rai was shot at in the neck and died on the spot.

The deceased survived by his two sons Abhishek Ram, Manoj Rai, two daughters Pooja Devi and Shobha Devi and his wife Prema Devi.
