BHABHUA--------------------------In a major crackdown on cattle smuggling within the Chainpur police station area, the police arrested three smugglers, including a woman. Fifteen animals loaded onto a pickup truck were also recovered from their possession.
Ashok Kumar, the Additional Station House Officer (SHO) of Chainpur, stated that they had received a tip-off regarding the illegal smuggling of animals in a vehicle via Harsu Brahm Mor. Acting on a tip-off, the police immediately set up a blockade and intercepted the vehicle; a search revealed 15 animals—all young buffaloes—on board. Three individuals were arrested at the scene.
During interrogation, the arrested accused identified themselves as Farid Ansari (son of Pidu Ansari) from Mati village, Vimla Devi (wife of Virendra Nat), and Rakesh Kumar (son of Vijay Nat)—all residents of Chandauli district, Uttar Pradesh.
The police completed the necessary legal formalities after getting the accused medically examined at the Chainpur Primary Health Centre. Subsequently, the three were produced before the Bhabhua Court and remanded to judicial custody. Further police action is underway, and a detailed investigation into the matter is being conducted.
