ARA--------------------------Congress leader Akhilesh Singh visited Bilauti village on Sunday to meet the family of Bharat Bhushan Tiwari, who was killed in an alleged encounter, and offered his condolences to the bereaved family. Targeting the government, he stated that had the government possessed the moral courage, the guilty officers and personnel involved in the incident would have been dismissed immediately.

He asserted that the investigation into the matter should be conducted by a sitting High Court judge rather than a retired one, so that the public can be assured of an impartial inquiry. The decision to have the probe conducted by a retired judge appears to be an attempt to hoodwink the cause of justice.

Akhilesh Singh alleged that Bharat Tiwari was the victim of a staged encounter and demanded strict action against everyone involved in the incident. He remarked that the government is consistently encouraging fake encounters, noting that the police's conduct has come to resemble that of the British colonial era.

Bharat Tiwari was a young man from a poor Brahmin family who used to raise his voice against injustice and fight for people's rights and entitlements. His family should be given compensation of one crore rupees, and his brother should be provided with a job. Former MLA Sanjay Tiwari (alias Munna Tiwari), Congress District President Shridhar Tiwari, Shyamnandan Ojha, Tapu Tiwari, Saroj Tripathi, Naga Thakur, and several others were present on the occasion.
