ARA--------------------------Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary had recently made it clear that the CMO would now keep a direct watch on the schedules and punctuality of block offices and police stations. Following this announcement by the CM, significant changes are now being witnessed within the administrative machinery. On Monday morning, Sanjeet Kumar, the SDM of Jagdishpur in the district, took charge of a surprise inspection drive in an effort to streamline the administrative system.
At 10:16 AM on Monday, he visited the Jagdishpur Block Office, following which he arrived at the Bihiya Block Office at exactly 10:59 AM. This inspection was not merely a formality; rather, the SDM personally visited every single desk to conduct a thorough examination of staff attendance and file maintenance.
During the inspection, layers of administrative apathy were exposed. At the Jagdishpur Block Office, seven employees were found absent from their designated workstations. The scene that unfolded was quite remarkable: upon finding the SDM in their midst, several employees rushed to the office in a panic, only to face a stern reprimand on the spot. Meanwhile, at the Bihiya Block Office, three employees were also found missing from duty.
SDM Sanjeet Kumar issued a stern warning to the employees found guilty of negligence. He made it clear that any unnecessary delays in attending to public matters, as well as laxity regarding office attendance, would no longer be tolerated under any circumstances. Issuing strict directives to the Block Development Officers (BDOs) and Circle Officers (COs) of Jagdishpur and Bihiya, he stated that if negligent employees were shielded or if reports regarding them were not submitted in a timely manner, full accountability for such lapses would be fixed upon the concerned officials.
