BHABHUA---------------------------Following the death of a patient while undergoing treatment at a private hospital within the police station's jurisdiction, the family members created a massive uproar and blocked National Highway (NH) 19. The deceased has been identified as Ram Iqbal Singh Kushwaha (55), a resident of Bichhiya village. According to the family, Ram Iqbal Singh had complained of shortness of breath, following which he was admitted to a private hospital in Durgavati. He was undergoing treatment at the hospital; however, the family alleges that despite the patient's critical condition, the doctors failed to refer him to Varanasi in a timely manner. They contend that had he been referred promptly, his life could perhaps have been saved.
Enraged by the patient's death, the family members blocked NH-19 and staged a protest. Upon receiving information about the incident, Mohania Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ratna Priyadarshini and Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Pradeep Kumar rushed to the scene. The officials managed to pacify the situation by reasoning with the family members. Meanwhile, the police have taken custody of the body and sent it to the Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Regarding the matter, the family members are leveling allegations of negligence against the hospital management and the doctors, while the police have initiated an investigation into the entire episode.
