DELHI--------------------------The investigation into the Red Fort blast case that terrified the nation's capital has now reached a crucial juncture. The Patiala House Court has granted the National Investigation Agency (NIA) 45 days of additional time to piece together the complex conspiracy. The reverberations of the terrorist attack have barely subsided, and this renewed momentum in legal proceedings has raised hopes of dismantling the perpetrators' network. Amid the intense efforts of security agencies and the deep web of evidence, the court's decision is being considered a major step toward justice.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had filed an application before the Patiala House Court seeking an extension of time to complete its investigation into the horrific car bomb blast that occurred on November 10, 2025, near the Red Fort Metro Station. The NIA argued that this terrorist module had deep roots and needed an additional 90 days to investigate its international connections. However, the court, recognizing the gravity of the arguments, granted the NIA an additional 45 days. During this period, the special NIA court also extended the judicial custody of all seven accused in the case until March 13, 2026.

During the hearing, accused Shoaib appeared in person before the court.M The investigation has so far revealed that the entire attack was planned by a highly educated 'white-collar' terrorist module. According to the NIA, this module was led by a group of doctors. The explosive-laden car used in the blast was driven by the alleged main accused, Umar-un-Nabi, who died in the attack.

The key accused detained include the following:

Dr. Adeel Ahmed Rather (Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir)

Dr. Muzammil Shakeel Ganai (Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir)

Dr. Shaheen Saeed (Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh)

Maulana Irfan Ahmed Wagay (religious preacher)

Jasir Bilal Wani (technical support and drone expert)

Amir Rashid Ali (owner of the car used in the blast)

Shoaib (logistical support provider)

According to the NIA chargesheet and remand papers, the accused not only provided logistics for carrying out the terrorist attack, but also played an active role in destroying evidence and harboring each other. He is alleged to have shared technical expertise in making drones and rockets. He also provided accommodation and other facilities to Umar-un-Nabi.

The agency is now analyzing "code words" and technical data recovered from the seized digital devices to uncover other individuals behind this larger conspiracy and the funding routes. The court believes that given the sensitivity of the case and national security, it is imperative to provide the investigating agency with adequate opportunity.
