ARA----------------------------A sensational case from Arrah in the Bhojpur district highlights just how deadly an addiction to social media and 'Reels' can prove to be. In the Bind Toli locality, under the jurisdiction of the local Town Police Station, a pregnant woman consumed poison in a fit of rage after her husband forbade her from watching Reels on her mobile phone. The woman was admitted in critical condition to the emergency ward of the Sadar Hospital, where she passed away during treatment. The incident has plunged both families into deep shock and turmoil.

According to reports, the deceased has been identified as Parvati Devi, a 24-year-old wife of Govind Mahto, a resident of Mahinawan village within the Maner police station area of Patna district. The deceased's brother, Dhanu Kumar, stated that Parvati lived in Rajkot, Gujarat—where her husband works as a daily wage laborer—along with her husband and children. Just about eight days prior to the incident, Parvati had traveled from Rajkot to her maternal home in Bind Toli, Arrah.

It is reported that on Friday night, Parvati was watching Reels on her mobile phone. During this time, her husband asked her to stop watching the Reels and told her to put the phone away. Her husband's instruction upset Parvati so deeply that, acting out of anger and impulse, she ingested a poisonous substance kept within the house. Her family members became aware of the incident only when her health began to deteriorate.

As her condition worsened, her relatives rushed Parvati to the Arrah Sadar Hospital. Doctors made strenuous efforts to save her and initiated treatment in the emergency ward; however, she succumbed to the poison after it spread throughout her body. Acting on information provided by the hospital administration, the local police have taken custody of the body, sent it for a post-mortem examination, and have commenced an investigation into the matter.
