CONCERN OVER DETERIORATING STATE OF LANGUAGE IN SOCIAL MEDIA AND POLITICS: BHAI DINESH

ARA---------------------------The standards of language in politics are eroding day by day; this is a deeply distressing and alarming matter.

Even more regrettable is the fact that certain YouTubers and social media influencers—solely to boost their viewership and popularity—are disseminating sensationalist news, controversial statements, and content designed to incite conflict among people. This poses a grave threat to both society and democracy.

The media is often referred to as the fourth pillar of democracy. If individuals undermine the dignity, impartiality, and public trust associated with journalism merely for the sake of personal fame and financial gain, it will inevitably foster confusion, hatred, and unrest within society.

The fact that YouTubers do not receive a fixed salary does not grant them license to promote vulgarity, abusive language, falsehoods, and provocation within society.

Platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, and other social media channels serve as powerful mediums for sharing noble ideas, positive initiatives, social service, educational content, cultural insights, and matters of public interest. We must not utilize these platforms to propagate abusive language, undignified speech, inflammatory statements, vulgar songs, semi-nude imagery or videos, or content that serves to divide society.

Today, there is an urgent need for all individuals associated with politics, traditional media, and social media to demonstrate restraint, decency, and responsibility in their language and conduct, thereby fostering a positive atmosphere within society and providing the younger generation with the right direction.
