ARA---------------------------Nowadays, social media and TV channels are broadcasting images of prominent leaders, ministers, and officials walking, cycling, traveling by train, and downsizing their motor convoys.

If these actions are genuinely undertaken in the national interest and to conserve fuel, then they are indeed welcome steps.

However, the people of this country no longer desire mere one-day theatrics; they seek lasting change.

If there is a genuine concern for conserving diesel, petrol, and gas, then the very first step the Central and State governments must take is to reduce the heavy taxes currently imposed on the public.

If taxes on diesel and petrol are reduced, it will bring relief to farmers, laborers, and the middle class; it will curb inflation; and it will strengthen the nation's economy.

The people of the country are asking: When the common man is being crushed under the weight of inflation, why do leaders and officials still maintain convoys consisting of ten vehicles each? When a poor person struggles to afford a gas cylinder, why does the government continue with such wasteful expenditure?

Serving the national interest means more than just cycling in front of a camera; it means fundamentally transforming the system. Serving the national interest entails: Strict action against corruption, Reducing unemployment, Providing economic relief to the poor and the middle class, Controlling the prices of food items and medicines, Reducing government expenditure and ostentation, The public needs relief, not speeches.

The public needs change, not propaganda. The public needs an honest system, not mere theatrics. The time has come for simplicity in this country to cease being confined merely to photographs and, instead, become an integral part of the governance structure itself.
