BHABHUA---------------------------The District Judge and the Secretary held a review meeting at the Civil Court, Shivhar, concerning the National Lok Adalat scheduled for May 9th.

In accordance with the directives of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), a significant review meeting was held within the premises of the Civil Court, Shivhar, to ensure the successful organization of the upcoming National Lok Adalat on May 9, 2026.

The meeting was presided over by the District and Sessions Judge (Principal District Judge), with the Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) also playing a prominent role in the proceedings.

During the meeting, the Principal District Judge issued directives to ensure that the maximum possible number of pending cases within the Civil Court are disposed of during this Lok Adalat. His objective is to provide swift and accessible justice to the public.

Specific discussions during the meeting focused on the settlement—based on mutual compromise—of cases related to bank loan recovery, compoundable criminal offenses, cheque bounce incidents, and Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) matters.

During the session, the DLSA Secretary reviewed the preparations and stated that comprehensive measures are being undertaken to ensure the timely issuance of notices to litigants and to raise their awareness regarding the benefits offered by the Lok Adalat.

The District Judge and the Secretary have appealed to the general public and members of the legal fraternity to visit the Civil Court, Shivhar, on May 9th to resolve their compoundable cases through mutual consent. Decisions reached through the Lok Adalat are final and binding, thereby offering relief from protracted litigation.
