ARA----------------------------A meeting of NDA workers and Panchayat representatives was held on Saturday at an auditorium in Piro regarding the ongoing election for the Bhojpur-Buxar seat (Local Authorities' Constituency) of the Bihar Legislative Council. Several prominent figures—including Sandesh MLA Radhacharan Sah, Jagdishpur MLA Shribhagwan Kushwaha, and former MLA Sunil Pandey—were present to extend their support to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate, Kanhaiya Prasad. These political stalwarts are actively mobilizing Panchayat representatives in favor of Kanhaiya Prasad by touring the region and organizing meetings at various locations. Speaking at the gathering of NDA workers and Panchayat representatives, Radhacharan Sah stated that he has consistently raised his voice to advocate for the rights and security of Panchayat representatives. It was through his efforts—specifically after he raised the issue in the Legislative Council—that the allowance for Ward Members was increased from ₹250 to ₹500, and subsequently to ₹800. He also consistently raised questions in the Legislative Council regarding the proposal to increase the allowance for Block Chiefs (Pramukhs) from ₹2,500 to ₹7,500. Furthermore, he mentioned that the government is considering a proposal to grant arms licenses to all Panchayat representatives, and he pledged to meet with Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary to expedite the approval of this proposal. Meanwhile, NDA candidate Kanhaiya Prasad affirmed that he would strive to carry forward the legacy of his father's work by continuously fighting for the rights and security of Panchayat representatives. Addressing the gathering, former MLA Sunil Pandey and MLA Shribhagwan Kushwaha urged the workers to resolve to ensure Kanhaiya Prasad's victory; they asserted that if every single party worker takes the responsibility of winning over just three Panchayat representatives, nothing can prevent the NDA candidate from achieving a historic victory in this election. The meeting held at this venue was anchored by Rohit Verma, the BJP's Piro City President. In addition to hundreds of party workers—including Madan Snehi, Amod Rai, Arun Pratap Singh, Baijnath Upadhyay, Sonu Pandey, Goldy Singh, Guddu Singh, Ravi Keshari, Rahul Gupta, and Aman Gupta—several Panchayat representatives also participated in the meeting.
