ARA-----------------------On the occasion of International Workers' Day, various organizations and institutions across the subdivision organized separate events to emphasize the need for the effective implementation of laws designed for the welfare of hardworking laborers, agricultural workers, and other members of the workforce. During an event organized on Bihiya Road—initiated by social worker Amit Kumar Gupta—sanitation workers and other employees of the Municipal Council were felicitated. Virendra Prasad Gupta, a prominent local businessman, honored all the sanitation workers and laborers present at the event with floral garlands and traditional ceremonial scarves (*Anga Vastras*). Addressing the gathering on this occasion, Amit Kumar Gupta remarked that these workers serve as warriors for both the nation and society. Like *Karmayogis* (selfless workers), they toil day and night for the betterment of society, thereby proving their indispensable value. These workers play a pivotal role in the reconstruction and development of society; as such, they can never be allowed to remain neglected. He further noted that while numerous laws have been enacted in the country for the welfare of such workers, most of these statutes remain ineffective at the grassroots level. Consequently, laborers are unable to reap the intended benefits and continue to fall victim to exploitation. Therefore, there is an urgent need to ensure the effective enforcement of labor laws to truly secure the welfare of the working class. Several dignitaries were present at the event. Meanwhile, at a separate event held at the Piro Municipal Council, Council Chairperson Kiran Upadhyay honored all the sanitation workers and other employees by presenting them with gifts.
