In this context, Assistant Commissioner (Prohibition) Rajnish received a tip-off that a large quantity of foreign liquor was being transported by truck from Uttar Pradesh towards Patna (Bihar).
A team led by Inspector Prakash Chandra was constituted by the Assistant Commissioner (Prohibition). On Wednesday, during a vehicle check on the Buxar-Patna four-lane highway near the Kayamnagar overbridge (under the Gidha police station area), a large quantity of foreign liquor was recovered from a secret compartment built inside a 12-wheeler truck. The truck bore a Patna registration number.
The team arrested the driver, Vindhyachal Yadav—a resident of Javahi Diyar under the Brahmpur police station area of Buxar district—at the scene. He was subsequently handed over to the court for further legal action. A total of 648 liters of foreign liquor (comprising 3,600 units) was seized from the vehicle. The market value of the seized liquor is estimated at approximately ₹8 lakh.
The seized liquor was being transported from Uttar Pradesh to Patna (Bihar). The raiding team included Inspector Prakash Chandra, Sub-Inspector Shivam Kumar Jha, and Assistant Sub-Inspector Rajkumar Raja, along with Prohibition constables and personnel from the SAP (Special Auxiliary Police) and Home Guards.
