PATNA-------------------------Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, who has been making headlines with his statements regarding the high-profile Bharat Tiwari encounter in the Shahpur area of ​​Bihar's Bhojpur district, has once again supported the police action, stating that an act committed in self-defense is not wrong.

Speaking to journalists in Patna, Jitan Ram Manjhi remarked that the action taken by the police was not incorrect. He asked how someone could be spared if they pointed a revolver at them. He further noted that many police personnel have lost their lives in such incidents; therefore, the police's action cannot be deemed wrong.

The Union Minister added that while an attack on the police is treated as a serious matter, it is inappropriate to question the police when they take action in self-defense. He also mentioned that the Bihar government has constituted a judicial commission to investigate the case, so there is no longer any justification for further controversy over the matter.

Jitan Ram Manjhi acknowledged that people across the world are expressing their opinions on the case, but maintained that the police did not commit any act of brutality. He also appealed to the media not to raise unnecessary questions regarding this issue.

It is worth noting that Jitan Ram Manjhi had similarly supported the police action following the encounter with Bharat Tiwari in Bhojpur on June 17. At that time, he had stated that if an individual possesses a weapon and threatens the police, retaliatory action is natural.
