ARA--------------------------Following the Bharat Tiwari encounter, the Bihar Police have intensified action against individuals circulating misleading and inflammatory content on social media. So far, FIRs have been registered against 12 content creators at the Patna Cyber Police Station. Police allege that these individuals attempted to incite social discord and disrupt law and order by spreading rumors.
According to the police, more than 50 social media accounts—including those on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram—were identified as sources of objectionable and misleading content. Many of these social media IDs and objectionable posts have already been taken down. Additionally, social media platforms are being continuously monitored at the police headquarters level.
Police sources indicate that one content creator allegedly used derogatory language against Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. The accused had also posted a photo of himself holding a weapon on social media. Police are conducting technical investigations and frequent raids to arrest him, though his exact location remains unknown.
The Bihar Police state that action is being taken only against accounts that disseminate misleading or inflammatory content or material that disrupts law and order. All such accounts are subject to regular monitoring.
Meanwhile, the Bhojpur Police are also maintaining active surveillance on social media. Misleading claims circulated by content creators are being promptly refuted with facts. Recently, a viral video claimed that the police team was attacked following the Bharat Tiwari encounter; the Bhojpur Police officially refuted this claim, dismissing it as false. The police have appealed to the public to refrain from sharing any unverified, misleading, or inflammatory information on social media and to rely only on information issued by official sources.
