ARA----------------------The district administration remains fully vigilant and prepared to curb erosion by the Ganges River within the district. In this context, on Wednesday, District Magistrate Tanay Sultania conducted an on-site inspection of the ongoing anti-erosion works near Jawainiya village—situated along the Buxar-Koilwar Ganges embankment within the Damodarpur Panchayat of Shahpur Block. During the inspection, the District Magistrate issued strict directives to complete the work on a war footing and strictly within the stipulated timeframe.
The District Magistrate issued clear instructions to the Executive Engineer of the Flood Control Department to personally camp at the worksite and oversee the entire process. He emphasized that there must be absolutely no compromise regarding the quality of the work. Completing the project with high quality, while strictly adhering to technical specifications, remains the administration's top priority. Special directives were issued to officials to ensure the availability of necessary materials so that no impediments arise during the execution of the work.
Regarding the workforce, the District Magistrate directed the contractor to immediately ensure the deployment of at least 800 laborers at the worksite. Commenting on the pace and organization of the work, he stated that all related components must be executed simultaneously in a coordinated and systematic manner to achieve optimal results within a shorter timeframe.
Underscoring the significance of this anti-erosion project, the District Magistrate remarked that this undertaking is not only essential for preventing Ganges erosion but that its completion will also serve to safeguard surrounding villages and agricultural lands. The strengthening of the embankment is expected to lead to a significant reduction in potential damage during the monsoon season and periods of probable flooding, thereby providing immense relief to local residents and ensuring the security of their livelihoods.
Furthermore, the administration has formulated an action plan for the continuous monitoring of this project to ensure that transparency and quality are maintained at every stage of execution. During the inspection, the Chief Engineer of the Water Resources Department, Patna, was present alongside Sanjeet Kumar (Sub-Divisional Officer, Jagdishpur), Rajesh Kumar Sharma (Sub-Divisional Police Officer), Shatrunjay Kumar Singh (Block Development Officer, Shahpur), Anand Prakash (Circle Officer), Rashmi Sagar (Revenue Officer), the concerned contractor, and local village dignitaries.
