BUXAR----------------------------There is an atmosphere of enthusiasm within the District Advocates' Association after the issue of comprehensive development of Buxar's historical and mythological pilgrimage sites was raised in the Rajya Sabha. Following Rajya Sabha MP Manan Kumar Mishra's call for Buxar's development in the House, advocates hailed it as a positive initiative for the district.
District Advocates' Association President Baban Ojha stated that this is an important step towards establishing Buxar's historical and religious identity at the national level. He added that for years, advocates and social workers have been demanding the development of the pilgrimage site, which has now found a voice in Parliament.
General Secretary Bindeshwari Pandey stated that the religious and cultural heritage sites in Buxar, from Ramrekha Ghat to Siddhashram, hold immense significance. If the central and state governments coordinate and develop infrastructure, roads, lighting, sanitation, and tourism facilities, Buxar could become one of the country's leading pilgrimage sites.
Senior advocate Rameshwar Prasad Verma stated that the development of the pilgrimage site would not only promote religious tourism but also create employment opportunities for local youth. Advocates Shivji Rai, Dheeraj Thakur, Tej Pratap Singh Chhote, and Amit Yadav issued a joint statement, stating that the overall development of Buxar is the need of the hour and that a special central plan should be formulated for this purpose. The advocates expressed hope that after the issue is raised in Parliament, the government will take concrete steps in this direction, thereby strengthening Buxar's religious, cultural, and economic identity.
In his address, Rajya Sabha MP Manan Mishra mentioned several prominent sites, including Ramrekha Ghat, Siddhashram, Rameshwar Temple, Vamana Avatar Sthal, Nath Baba Temple, and Rameshwar Sthan Temple. He stated that these sites, described in religious texts and historical sources, have the potential to be developed as major pilgrimage sites in the country.
The MP compared that just as Ayodhya, Kashi, Ujjain, and Dwarka have experienced extensive development as religious tourism destinations, Buxar too can be developed in the same way.
MP Manan Mishra also asked the government which central government schemes are proposed or implemented in Buxar for tourism-based development, road and transportation systems, facilities for pilgrims, employment generation, and strengthening the local economy. He said that if Buxar's pilgrimage sites are properly developed, it will not only promote religious tourism but also provide employment opportunities for local youth and boost the regional economy.
