ARA--------------------------On Tuesday morning, near the Balbandh Sun Temple in the Charpokhari police station area of ​​the district, a speeding trailer truck ran over a couple traveling on a motorcycle to fetch medicine. Both died on the spot. Local villagers chased down and apprehended the driver as he attempted to flee the scene.

Following the incident, local villagers were overcome with outrage. Demanding compensation, they placed both bodies in the middle of the road near the Balbandh Sun Temple, causing a traffic blockade, and smashed the windshield of the trailer. Due to the blockade, which lasted approximately five and a half hours, long queues of vehicles formed on both sides of the road, and traffic movement came to a complete standstill.

Upon receiving the information, the local police arrived at the scene. Traffic resumed only after the police pacified the crowd and cleared the blockade. The police had post-mortem examinations conducted on both bodies at Sadar Hospital. The driver was arrested, and the trailer was seized.

According to reports, the deceased have been identified as 30-year-old Arjun Pal and his 25-year-old wife, Rani Devi, residents of Bahri village under the Charpokhari police station area. Rampravesh Pal, the maternal grandfather of the deceased Arjun Pal, stated that on Tuesday morning, Arjun was traveling to Ara on a motorcycle with his wife, Rani Devi, to get medicine. Near the Sun Temple in Balbandh village, a speeding trailer ran them over, resulting in their deaths on the spot.

It is reported that Arjun Pal was the eldest of two brothers and two sisters. The couple was married in 2018 but had no children after seven years of marriage. The incident has plunged the family into deep grief; family members are inconsolable.
