ARA------------------------Following demands for the resumption of alcohol consumption by leaders of allies within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by Janata Dal United (JDU) President and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, JDU MP Devesh Chandra Thakur has now demanded the repeal of the prohibition. Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has long criticized the failure of the prohibition and advocated for its repeal. Last month, Madhav Anand, the legislative party leader of Upendra Kushwaha's party, also called for the ban to be lifted. Union Minister Chirag Paswan and BJP MLA Vinay Bihari have also expressed the need for a review of the prohibition. Now, JDU MP Devesh Chandra Thakur has stated that Nitish Kumar's ban was well-intentioned, but it failed to achieve success.
