ARA-------------------------A major administrative challenge regarding the education system has emerged in Ara, Bhojpur district. Out of the district's 14 blocks, Block Education Officers (BEOs) are posted in only five, while the posts in nine blocks have remained vacant for a long time. This shortage is directly impacting school supervision, the implementation of schemes, and the education of children. In view of the situation, the Education Department has decided to assign additional charges to other officials as an interim measure.

The Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department has issued directives clarifying that in blocks where there is no Block Education Officer, the responsibility should be entrusted to the Block Development Officer (BDO) or other supervisory-level officials. The objective is to maintain coordination between the block and district levels and ensure that departmental operations remain unaffected.

The vacancy of BEO posts in nine blocks of the district was hindering various administrative tasks. A slowdown was observed in crucial activities such as school inspections, monitoring teacher attendance, reviewing schemes, and overseeing academic operations. Consequently, the department decided to immediately implement an alternative arrangement.

Officials believe that had this step not been taken in time, it could have had a further negative impact on the education system.

Under the issued orders, different officials have been assigned the additional charge of Block Education Officer across various blocks. In Ara Sadar, Block Welfare Officer Upendra Kumar Rai has been appointed as the Sub-Inspector of Schools for Ara Town. In Agiaon, Block Development Officer Archana Kumari has been given the responsibility of Block Education Officer. In Barhara, Block Statistics Officer Vikas Kumar Pandey has been entrusted with the BEO's duties.

In Koilwar, BDO Veer Bahadur Pathak has received this charge, while in Udwantnagar, Block Welfare Officer Rajesh Kumar has been assigned the additional responsibility. In Sandesh block, BDO Dinesh Kumar, and in Sahar, BDO Janardan Tiwari have been assigned the additional charge of BEO. In Tarari, BDO Kundan Kumar has been entrusted with this responsibility.

Additionally, Piro's Block Education Officer, Manoj Kumar, has been given the additional charge of Charpokhari, while in Jagdishpur, BDO Kanti Kumar has been assigned the duties of Block Education Officer.

These officials have been granted not only administrative but also financial powers to ensure there are no hurdles in the implementation of schemes. This arrangement will remain in effect until a regular appointment is made or a permanent system is established.

While this temporary arrangement by the Education Department in Ara offers some immediate relief, it is clear that the problem will not be fully resolved without permanent appointments. If regular Block Education Officers are not posted in all blocks soon, the impact on the education system could persist for a long time. For now, the administration has attempted to manage the situation by assigning additional charges to responsible officials.
