ARA---------------------The menace of a so-called 'Apache and Pulsar bike gang' has escalated in the Garhani Nagar Panchayat market recently.
This has created panic among the public. Several incidents of mobile snatching and theft over the past week have heightened concerns among locals. Due to the criminals' growing audacity, people visiting the market feel unsafe. According to local residents, mobile phones belonging to several individuals—including Sonu Kumar (an employee at the Garhani Community Health Centre/CHC) and Garhani residents Prakash Keshari and Shubham Kumar—have been snatched recently. Additionally, approximately one lakh rupees were stolen from the storage compartment (dicky) of a scooter belonging to a businessman from Piro. It is reported that the perpetrators arrive on Apache and Pulsar motorcycles, snatch mobile phones from the pockets of pedestrians or motorcyclists, and flee rapidly.
These recurring incidents have created an atmosphere of fear among traders and the general public in the market area. People point out that despite numerous reported incidents, no arrests have been made so far, raising questions about the functioning of the police.
Demands have been raised for increased regular patrolling in the market area, checks on suspicious motorcyclists, and swift action based on the identification of the accused through CCTV surveillance. Residents warn that if effective measures are not taken in time, such incidents could escalate further.
