RAJIV NAYAN AGRAWAL

BHABHUA----------------------------In Chadui village, located in the Kudra block of Kaimur district, the administration cleared an encroachment by removing mud and tile-roofed structures associated with a disputed Durga temple complex built on government land. The operation was conducted under the supervision of the Circle administration and in the presence of a heavy police force. The administration maintains that the action was taken in accordance with regulations, based on a complaint and an investigation report.

On Wednesday, the administration launched a major drive to remove encroachments regarding the land dispute involving the Durga temple complex in Chadui village, Kudra block, Kaimur district. Under the supervision of the Circle administration, JCB machines were used to demolish the mud and tile-roofed structures at the disputed site. A large police force and riot control teams were deployed to prevent any untoward incidents during the operation.

This matter had been a topic of discussion for several months. While the administrative action has resulted in the reclamation of government land from encroachment, the issue has also elicited varied reactions within the village.

According to administrative sources, Raju Singh, a resident of Chadui village, had lodged a complaint with the administration regarding the encroachment on government land. The complaint alleged that construction had been carried out on government land without authorization.

Upon receiving the complaint, the Revenue Department and local administration initiated an investigation. Land records and relevant documents were examined during the inquiry. Subsequently, the administration decided to take action in accordance with the law.

The process of removing the encroachment began around 5 PM on Wednesday in the presence of administrative officials.

JCB machines were used to dismantle the mud and tile-roofed structures at the disputed site. The entire area was kept under a security cordon during the operation to prevent any disorder.

Given the sensitivity of the matter, the administration had made extensive security arrangements. In addition to the local police, additional police forces and a riot control squad were deployed at the site of the operation. Senior officials remained present at the scene to oversee the entire process.

The police administration continuously appealed to the public to maintain peace.

A large number of villagers gathered at the site while the operation was underway.

Locals state that a Durga temple was constructed at the site years ago, and people from various communities in the village have regularly offered prayers there.

The villagers expressed concern regarding this site, which is linked to their religious faith, and urged the administration to handle the matter with sensitivity.

Speaking to journalists after the operation, Kudra Circle Officer Mr. Narayan Rai stated that the action was carried out entirely in accordance with legal procedures.

He explained that an inquiry was conducted following a complaint, and a decision was made to remove the encroachment on government land.

The Circle Officer clarified that the administration's action was not intended to hurt religious sentiments but was aimed at clearing government land of encroachments.

The administration also acknowledged that the Durga temple is a significant center of faith for the Hindu community and stated that it respects this sentiment.

According to officials, the operation was limited to the specific area identified in revenue records as an encroachment on government land.

The administration has appealed to the public to ignore rumors and maintain peace.

The situation in the area is reported to be normal following the operation.

Police and administrative officials are keeping a close watch on the situation in the village. Officials stated that monitoring continues to prevent the spread of rumors or the escalation of tension.

The local administration has clarified that maintaining law and order is the top priority.

Experts believe that disputes involving government land and religious sites in rural areas often become sensitive issues.

In such cases, the administration must strike a balance between enforcing the law and respecting social and religious sentiments.

The case in Chadui village illustrates the challenge of balancing administrative procedures with local sentiments. The action taken in Chadui village is reported to be part of an administrative drive to remove encroachments from government land. However, as the matter also involves religious sentiments, it has become a topic of local discussion. For now, the administration has described the situation as peaceful and under control, while appealing to the public to cooperate in maintaining law and order.
