The estimated value of the seized liquor is reported to be approximately ₹45 lakh. The truck driver was arrested during the operation.

BUXAR------------------------The Excise Department team achieved a major breakthrough on Tuesday morning. During a search operation at the Veer Kunwar Singh Check Post (Upper Bridge), a massive quantity of foreign liquor and beer was recovered from a DCM truck. The estimated value of the seized liquor is reported to be approximately ₹45 lakh. The truck driver was arrested during the operation.
Excise Superintendent Ashraf Jamal stated that this operation was conducted under the leadership of Check Post In-charge and Excise Inspector Kundan Kumar. Around 4:00 AM on Tuesday, during a routine inspection drive, a suspicious DCM truck was stopped and subjected to a search. During the inspection, a large consignment of liquor, concealed within the truck, was recovered.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the liquor consignment was being transported from Chandigarh to Muजफ्फरपुर. The recovered goods include various packs of Budweiser beer and Classic Old Habit whisky.
According to the Excise Department, a total of 491 cartons were recovered from the truck, comprising 3,456 liters of foreign liquor and 1,188 liters of beer. The total recovered quantity is reported to be 4,644 liters.
The driver arrested at the scene has been identified as Sonu Singh (45), a resident of Nagpur, Maharashtra. The Excise Department has seized both the liquor and the DCM truck. An FIR has been registered in the matter under the Excise Act, and further legal proceedings have been initiated.
