BUXAR----------------------------Chaos erupted on Monday at Kanehari High School, located in the Rajpur block of the district, when approximately 10 students suddenly fainted during school hours due to the scorching heat. This incident triggered a state of panic throughout the entire school campus.

According to eyewitnesses, shortly after the morning assembly concluded and the first class began, the children started falling ill. Overcome by the intense heat and the effects of the heatwave, several students collapsed and fell to the ground. Within moments, the condition of about 10 children became critical.

Immediately following the incident, Headmaster Arvind Kumar Singh demonstrated promptness by laying all the affected children under fans to administer first aid and simultaneously alerting senior officials. Upon receiving news that the children had fainted, parents were thrown into a panic and rushed to the school in large numbers.

Upon receiving the information, a medical team arrived at the scene, and the students in critical condition were transported via ambulance to the Community Health Centre (CHC). After receiving treatment there, all the children were discharged in the afternoon once they had recovered. It comes as a relief that all the children are now completely safe.

However, this is not the first such incident. Last Saturday as well, several children fell ill due to the heat, a situation that has heightened both the outrage and anxiety among parents. Parents argue that the school administration should exercise special caution during this extreme heat and ensure the availability of adequate healthcare facilities.

The Headmaster explained that the children's health deteriorated due to the heat, noting that a request for medicines and ORS supplies had already been submitted to the Health Department, but these had not yet been provided. In light of the situation—and acting on the directives of senior officials—the school was closed early, at 9:00 AM, as a precautionary measure.

This incident once again underscores the critical need for adequate heat-protection measures and healthcare facilities within schools.
