ARA-------------------------A tragic incident occurred early this morning near Mishrain Kund on Sarna Road, within the jurisdiction of the Shahpur police station. Mithun Sharma, a 28-year-old resident of Ward No. 3 in Shahpur Nagar Panchayat, attempted to save others without regard for his own life but, unfortunately, was overcome by the deep water. Mithun Sharma was the son of Ramakant Sharma.

Eyewitness Vijay Kumar recounted the incident, stating that it was morning and they had gone there for a walk. The entire surrounding area is submerged, with water visible on all sides. During this time, another person present began to drown, and Mithun Sharma immediately jumped into the water to rescue him.

According to eyewitnesses, Mithun Sharma displayed great courage and successfully pulled the drowning person to safety, but he could not return himself; he became trapped amidst the deep water and aquatic vegetation. An emotional Vijay Kumar Singh mentioned that Mithun had cried out for help to those present, but tragically, none of the 15 to 20 people there knew how to swim.

A boat fishing nearby was also hailed for help, but the boatman did not stop and instead moved away in the opposite direction. Mithun struggled in the water for about 10 to 15 minutes but was ultimately submerged in the deep water.
