ARA--------------------------A woman died after consuming poison in the neighborhood near Sapna Cinema Mor, within the jurisdiction of the Town Police Station. She passed away on Wednesday evening while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city. The incident caused a stir among the local residents.

The deceased has been identified as Sanjana Srivastava (25), wife of Abhishek Srivastava, a resident of Mahajan Toli under the Town Police Station area. At the time of the incident, she was living in a rented house in the Sapna Cinema neighborhood.

Meanwhile, the deceased's father, Gaurishankar Lal, stated that his daughter Sanjana had been married previously in 2018 to a man from Sandesh village (under Sandesh Police Station). She had a son, Kartik Raj, from that first marriage. However, the couple had divorced for certain reasons. On June 21, 2026, she was married for the second time to Abhishek Srivastava, a resident of the Gausganj neighborhood in Ara, at the Vishwakarma Temple.

He, too, has a daughter named Lali from his first marriage. Shortly after the wedding, conflicts began arising between his stepdaughter and Sanjana Kumari over trivial matters, causing Sanjana significant mental stress. It was for this reason that she consumed poison on Wednesday afternoon.
